Meet Andre. He is a Fil-Am kid, born and raised in Fresno California. He is an American but he is Filipino at heart and mind.
In my opinion, he is more Filipino than many of us who lived in the Philippine islands all our lives.
While Filipinos of Andre’s age are still into kid’s play, this precocious kid is already teaching us a lesson or two about love of country on social media.
And boy, his Facebook post lately has been getting a lot of attention on social media, garnering hundreds of shares and thousands of reactions and still counting.
In the viral Facebook post, Andre tells UP student rallyists that change must start from within for the good of the country in particular and the world in general.
“Ang pagbabago na gusto mo ay dapat magsimula sa sarili mo, gawin mo ito para sa Pilipinas at sa mundo.”

“Start with simple good deeds like helping clean the streets and participating in going green–plant some trees or maybe teach out of school homeless kids around Manila how to write and read instead of wasting your time rallying and shouting against the government,” Andre elaborated.
